The Township of Derry will not reimburse for any damage to basketball nets/poles or any other recreational equipment located within the right-of-way that is damaged while performing the above-listed operations. The Public Works Department is asking that this equipment be moved from the roadway and alley so that they do not overhang or protrude into the right-of-way. ĭuring street sweeping, leaf picking, and snow plowing operations, freestanding basketball nets, soccer goals, and any other sporting equipment located along curbs, in alleys, and in the street, pose a serious safety issue to the drivers performing their duties either sweeping, collecting leaves or plowing snow.
